He was a retired operator with DuPont and an United States Army Veteran. Visitation will commence on Monday, November 30th, 2009 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Paradis from 8:30AM until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00AM. Interment will follow at St. Charles Cemetery in Luling. He is survived by his mother, Rosemay Malbrough Taranto, Paradis; 1 son, Joshua D. Taranto & wife Chantel, FL; 3 daughters, Angela Grigar & husband Michael, Charla Blankenship, all of TX, and Lauren Taranto & husband Chris of Laplace; 1 brother, Gaspar Taranto, Jr. "Hoot" & wife Arlene, Paradis. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins & friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Gaspar Taranto, Sr. He was a member & past master of the Progressive Masonic Lodge of Reserve & a member of the Jerusalem Shriners.
