Ciao everyone!

I am new here but was directed here by a cousin who does a lot of family research. My 2nd great grandparents on my paternal grandfather's side are Felix Desimone (1819-1889) and Angelia Mancuso (1826-1904). Apparently, they were close friends with my other 2nd great grandparents, Vincenzo Adoraiddio (1824-1887) and Rosalia Taranto (1832-1885). The story I heard from my father is that these two families came to the U.S. from Palermo through New Orleans, and eventually around the horn to San Francisco. My great grandparents, Joseph Adoraddio (1863-1928) and Theresa Desimone (1858-1930) were said to be small children when they traveled together to New Orleans.

I have census records that show that Vincenzo and Rosalia had a son, Francesco (Lovegod) in Utah in 1869. This is the earliest known date I have for the Adoradio family being in the U.S. Both families were living in San Francisco by the 1880 census. I do not show the original arrival on a passenger list for either of these families.

I realize there were many Desimone and Mancuso cousins already living in New Orleans during the 1860's and 70's. Felix had a business there during this time and their younger children were born in New Orleans (Francoise b 1868; Frank b. 1871) as well. Does anyone know of records showing this family entering either New Orleans during the 1860's or San Francisco during the 1870's?

I am trying to account for about 11 years of family history for these two families, particularly the Adoraiddio's.

Any help or direction you could point me in would be greatly appreciated.

Grazie mille!
