Antonio Compagno Compagno, for years one of the best known busimen around Magazine and Felicity, died at his residence, 946 Felicity St yesterday afternoon. was born in Ustica, Italy on January 31, 1842 and came to New Orleans during 1861. Being of a highly ambitious and energetic disposition, he rapidly rose in the house where he received hist employment and then started a business of his own. In April 1871 he married Miss Julia Fiavre and was always a devoted father and husband. business section of Magazine St where he was widely known and liked. leaves a widow and 8 children, 6 daughters and 2 sons, Messrs. Salvadore and Emile. His 2 married daughters are Mrs P J Poelman and Mrs Frank Tranchina.
For years he has been a faithful members of Excelsior Lodge, knights of honor. He was of generous and gentile disposition, peforming much charity and deeds as he had lived, firm in the faith of the Catholic Church.
