As a great-granddaughter of Giuseppe Desimone, I understand that (per his obituary)
he arrived in the San Francisco Bay Area in 1847. He then married in New Orleans
in 1856 and returned to California where he had an orchard, sold fruits and
vegetables, and raised a large family.
My question relates to the
years between 1843 or so (when I understand that he was ship's boy on a voyage
to the East Indies) and 1856. Can anyone provide any information?
