The very next day there was an even more detailed obituary listing his birth date, November 30, 1827 and his 1856 marriage to Mary Lauff. Rarely in genealogical research do we get evidence this exact. Also interesting is that he is being lauded as one of the pioneers of California, so he appears to have left New Orleans shortly after his marriage.
