This is earliest record I've found that lists a person from Ustica. It is a ship list recording the arrival in New Orleans in January 1848 of a ship from Palermo. There are only 7 passengers on this ship and the third person is Calogero DiSimone, age 19, and the "Country to which they belong" is Sicily. At this period in time Italy doesn't exist as a nation so it's common to see nativity listed this way.
